From an early age, I had a dream of building and designing beautiful homes. Growing up in both Poland and Greece gave me a unique experience and allowed me to see a variety of different styles. As I grew, my love of design increased and became the focus of my formal education. After being accepted to both architecture and art programs, I chose to attend Ryerson University to study Interior Design. Once I completed my degree, I went on to Project Management at the Chang School. I am very proud of the education that I have received and as a result, I feel that my work reflects my passion.
Through the years, I have been fortunate enough to work with Brian Gluckstein during the launch of Hudson’s Bay Home line (Toronto), Andrea Kantelberg, a condo commercial designer based in Toronto, Robin Fraser, a restaurant designer, as well as an internship with ALSOP Architects under Will Alsop.
I consider myself very fortunate to have been able to work with these wonderful and creative minds, especially since they were just beginning to emerge as the frontrunners in their fields during my time with them.
Most recently, my focus has been on cabinetry, specifically kitchen and bathroom, but my favorite thing to design and work on is closet organization. Maximum efficiency is a draw for me.
My inspiration comes from all areas of my life. My education and practical experiences, my home life and daily goings-on all lend themselves to new creative development. Fashion icons, especially Zaid Affas are of great inspiration to me. His minimalist, elegant and sophisticated style inspires me through the use of clean and sleek lines. This stylistic choice is an exceptional compliment to the bright and spacious interiors of Nico van der Meulen.
I strive to pay specific attention to detail and functionality in all aspects of my designs. Working closely with my clients is a key factor in making sure that their vision is brought to life.

Interior Design/ CAD Technician
When I start working on a project I usually start by visualizing myself in the space. By doing this I get a good sense of how I would use the space (ie- the function), the flow and the proportions. I use the design elements and principles as the basis of every layout and tailor each one to the client’s needs and wants. Design ideas come from my past experience, current trends and classic elements that are tried and true.

When we started talking about redesigning our home, we spoke to a few designers and were impressed with Maria’s professionalism, her ability to listen to what we wanted and the quality of products she had. We are very pleased with the outcome of out home renovations and would recommend Arcuo interior Design in helping you with your designing needs.
Terri Hrkac and Bruce MacDonald,
We had consulted with a few interior designers but those consultations left us empty and with no clear idea about how to proceed. I was walking down Red River road on my lunch one day and saw the Arcuo Interior Design sign in the window and noted that they specialize in kitchens. I called Maria and set up a meeting, and we felt very comfortable with her and her ability to listen to our thoughts and dreams. Maria helped us every step of the way while not forcing her ideas on us, but rather working with us and modifying the plan (often) to accommodate our wants and needs. She patiently worked with us, looking for the perfect fixtures and details that we desired, and ultimately helped us build our beautiful kitchen.
Pearson Residence,
I was planning a fairly extensive kitchen renovation. The room needed to be reconfigured. I was aware of Maria’s experience and her ability to incorporate the ideas and wishes of her clients. I got a kitchen that was much more than I could have envisioned Maria drew up a plan that made the best use of the limited space available. I got a beautiful, functional space. I would highly recommend Maria for anyone’s design needs. I only wish I had a larger home so I could benefit from her knowledge and ingenuity.
